How we pack each part of your home

Kitchen

Plates, glasses and bowls are wrapped one by one in tissue and bubble wrap and packed upright in strong cartons with dividers. Pressure cookers, pans and steel utensils are nested to save space. Spices and dry food are sealed to avoid spills. Gas cylinders are not carried in the truck for safety; we explain how to transfer your connection.

Living room

Sofas are wrapped in bubble wrap or foam, then corrugated sheet, then stretch film. TVs travel in padded cartons, and wall mounts are taken down and packed with their screws. Showpieces, lamps and frames are packed separately with extra padding.

Bedrooms

Beds and wardrobes are dismantled where possible. Mattresses are sealed in plastic covers. Clothes go into wardrobe cartons so they can hang straight, and drawers are emptied into labelled cartons.

Children's room and study

Toys, books and school items are packed and labelled so they can be opened first at the new home. Computers and printers are packed in anti-static wrap with cables bagged and labelled.
